Day 20 of 24 days of beauty advent posts-Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

Day 20 is Smashbox Photo Finish Primer.

I have to confess that I haven't been using a primer for a few months now. Prior to this I had been religiously applying one before my foundation to give me a long lasting base. My reasons for using a primer were to help control my oily t zone and when I found that no matter what primer I used, be they cheaper or more expensive versions, none of them really offered me the mattification I was looking for. And so I thought why apply another layer to my face when it's not bringing anything to the table.

And you know what, I haven't missed a primer at all. I work in an office and I see the same lovely faces every day and they are the same people that see me, so why do I need to have a flawless base which lasts all day? I don't and I'm sure no one looks that close at my make up. And oddly I have found that my t zone has not been as oily slick as it used to be. Now this could be coincidence and because it's winter but hey, it's all good.

However, if you like wearing a primer or for me when I have an occasion or night out (I mean a night out is an occasion for me!) I will wear a primer. And Smashbox Photo Finish Primer has been hailed for a long time as being The Primer.

This is a transparent gel that smooths the skin and is said to blur imperfections, minimise pores and lines and help your make up go on better and last longer. The lightweight gel primer also helps to protect your skin against environmental pollutants, so this is a great layer to add if you live and work, or are visiting, a big city where you feel and see the dirt on your hands!

£26.00 for a full size 30ml.
