April 2017 Favourites

Err where have the last 4 months gone?! We are hurtling towards Summer, which I for one am looking forward to, although it has to be said that the UK weather needs to get its act together!

So here are the things I've been really enjoying in April.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation

Make up
This is a cheeky plug as I have a full post coming later this week on my first try of Tarte Make Up but I had to include the full coverage foundation in my favourites because I am loving it, and I really didn't expect to. I thought this would be too light in colour and too heavy for me but it is neither, it's a near perfect match for my skin tone and the mousse texture means you only need a tiny amount and this blends out to a medium coverage, so that your skin still looks natural. This foundation came as part of a set but you can buy it from QVC UK for £35, and this comes with a brush (which I have also been loving and using to apply).

Skincare
Apparently Kim Kardashian loves these, and not just because they're only £5.90 for 20 wipes but because they are an easy and efficient way to exfoliate and refresh the skin. One side of the wipe has an AHA solution which exfoliates and you can feel the grittiness of this. I use the exfoliating side in circular motions on my face, and then turn the wipe over to the smooth side which cools and refreshes skin. You can use these wipes twice a week and I really like the ease and convenience of them. Also really good used on lips to exfoliate dry skin.

Food
I love bread as much as the next person, sadly my IBS does not and as I get older I have had to become tuned in to what foods aggravate and results in an evening "detox" session. Bread is one of the main culprits. However, I seem to be ok with these delicious and moreish flatbreads from the Co-Op. I have these for soup dipping or slathered in Roule cheese. Yum. Me.

Misc
Big Little Lies - a Sky Atlantic series which has just finished it's season 1 and if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend. Think Housewives of Cheshire meets Desperate Housewives. You'll be surprised with how many big stars there are in this TV series and whilst it does slow a little in the middle, the finale is well worth the wait. I also want to move to Monterey asap.

Fashion
I've been looking out for a gem stone style ring for my index finger for a while now. But I kid you not, I have the widest index fingers in the world. Even the largest sized rings are too tight on my pork sausage fingers.
I picked up this ring in the Oliver Bonas sale for £24 and it's a Druzy Stone ring (no idea what a Druzy stone is..). I love that this is quite a statement ring but because it's not a coloured stone, it is still quite understated and fits comfortable on my middle finger (but not the gigantor index!). There are still some in the sale, here's the link.
So why not get yourself some cheese and flatbreads and binge watch Big Little Lies while we wait for the sun..
