The Wide Leg Jean Edit

I am bored and uncomfortable wearing skinny jeans, so when I started seeing Wide Leg jeans, I decided to see what was out there and if they would suit me.
First thing to say is that Next have loads of wide leg jeans of varying widths and style, so after trying on quite a few pairs, I went for these cropped wide leg jeans. I decided to go for a proper wide leg as I really want to embrace this look and also the finish on these jeans were my favourite out of all the ones I tried on.
To show how versatile the wide leg is, I've got a few different outfits below. But first here are the wide and or cropped jeans I tried on in Next.
I really like these ones and the only reason I didn't go for them was because I preferred the let down hem on the ones I bought. These are quite thick denim, are cropped and wide leg. £35.
These crop flare jeans are a great summer jean with the light wash and cropped, slight flared leg. £24.
These were really comfortable and are the Ankle Wide leg. They have a cut hem and that was the only thing I wasn't sure about, because they looked like I had cut them (which I have done to lots of my jeans. And ruined them!). But I like the fit of these. £28.
I love the dark rinse on these cropped flare jeans and if I hadn't pushed myself to go wide, wide - I would have got these. £24.

The wide leg ankle length jeans I've bought are £30 and they're not just for the warmer weather. Here they are with boots to cover cold ankles and a turtle neck jumper.
And a bit of double denim - a jeans and tshirt (from Topshop) outfit, worn with a vintage Diesel jacket and converse.
Another jeans and tshirt outfit but I've gone for a loose t-shirt (years old from All Saints) tucked in with my H&M (Gucci inspired) belt and black bow sliders from Primark.
With these wide leg jeans, I would suggest going for a slimmer fitting top so to avoid looking too wide, or as I've done above-tuck in a loose top.
Even though this bardot top (last year from New Look) is fairly wide, it isn't too long in the body and I think the fact that it's off shoulder balances out the look.
These super wide jeans I ordered from Asos (Asos Summer Haul post coming next week!) but as you can see they swamp me but I do like the colour and button fly detail. £32 from ASOS.
I hope my wide leg jean edit has whet your appetite for a more comfortable, different looking jean. And just in case you want to see my rear..

  1. I actually love how they look on you! I'm real short and genuinely don't think I'd ever pull them off, not now anyways, I'm waaay too comfortable with skinny jeans despite them being waaay to uncomfortable haha

    1. Kathy, I'm only 5ft 4 (at a push!) and these jeans are from the petite section, as I wanted them to be cropped on me. Skinny jeans always look good but there's a price for that isn't there! Haha.
