The bright trouser edit

Spring in the UK, as per usual, has come in fits and starts and like everyone else when we do have a proper Spring day, I embrace it wholeheartedly and want to shrug off my mostly black work wear wardrobe and inject some colour. It's taken me many years to brave a bright trouser and it started with these (not so bright) black and white flowery trousers from Primark. (These are years old but I have seen similar floral styles on Very.com).
And every time I wear these, I get comments/compliments on them. Although I did have these for a long time before I was brave enough to wear them, I now love them and wear them to work with a plain black top and on holiday with a vest top.

So this week I upped the ante and bought these bright orangey red trousers from Dorothy Perkins. They currently have 20% off their original £20 price. These are ankle grazers and are so comfortable to wear and, I think, have a flattering fit.
I also tried on the electric blue ones in store and I'm going to get them because I like that they're bright but not bright, bright.
Also from Dorothy Perkins are these tropical trousers, which would be perfect for holidays. £24.
And if you like the tropical vibe, these are a pricier version from Oasis at £40 and have a contrasting black stripe down the side.
And then bringing back the brightness are these hot pink trousers from Next, £28. I do prefer these bright trousers in the ankle grazer length, so these are just a bit too long in length for me but the colour is gorgeous.
And then for a different style are these wide leg trousers from M&S. I tried these on in a whim and as soon as I did, I loved them. The fit and wide leg style is so cosmopolitan chic and comfortable. They are a touch too long with flats on but worn with wedges - yes. I bought these as I just couldn't put them back on the rail. And having just booked myself a little holiday, where I'll be on my own for the first few days, I had a mental image of myself looking all confident and mysterious wondering around museums on my own. In my wide leg trousers.
And just in case you're interested, my flat shoes in all the photos are from H&M and are the currently on trend V throat style. £17.99.
And here you can see how flat they are.
I hope you like my edit, let's start a bright trouser revolution.

xx
