New Make Up for the New Year

It's nearly 2017 and I'm in the mood for new make up to welcome in the new year with a new face and a new attitude! In 2017 I want to try more make up brands and some of the iconic products that I regularly see on Instagram and blogs and let you know if they're really worth the hype.

An item I picked up just today is the Make Up Forever HD Foundation (not pictured). I'm down in London staying with one of my sisters and took myself to Westfield Shopping Mall (it was madness - I honestly think there will be people in the Zara till queue this time next week!) but I was really pleased to be able to pick up the HD foundation from the Debenhams beauty hall. I've seen so many good reviews on this, so I'll be trying it out to see how it compares to my 2016 favourite, the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. Watch this space!

Autograph Palette
Autograph Palette
This palette was a gift and features 9 eye shadows (mostly shimmers), a blusher and highlighter. It's a great travel palette and is representative of the quality of the Marks and Spencer Autograph range. I can't find this online but there are other Autograph palettes available.
All the eye shadows are quite pigmented and easy to blend. The shades are great winter neutrals.
Kiko Dual Blusher
Kiko Dual Blusher
I do like Kiko but I also find the rate at which they turnover products really annoying.  Bad luck if you find a product that you really love, because chances are they'll discontinue it! I picked up this dual powder blusher in the sale section for £6.40. I picked this up after trying out the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic blusher. At £30 there was quite a difference and in the store lights I wasn't that impressed, I couldn't really see it. But when I got home and looked in the mirror, oh my, the blusher they'd  put on me (The Climax) was lovely, it had totally woken up my whole complexion. I have since tried to buy this in another store but it's sold out, which makes me want it even more because let me tell you a £6.40 version is no dupe at all!

Another sale pick was this Kiko 3 eye shadow set at only £7.50, and you can still get it online here. I'm really into bronze shades at the moment and the two in this set have a plum undertone, which looks great worn on its on. And the cream shade is great just dabbed in the inner corner to brighten up tired eyes.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick
The shade Very Victoria is quite deceiving in the bullet because it looks a lot browner than it really is. It is in fact the perfect nude colour, but not so nude that you can't tell if you're wearing lipstick or not. If I'm paying £23.00 for a lipstick, I want to look like I'm wearing lipstick!
Also don't let the fact that it is one of the Matte Revolution shades put you off. This is in no way drying. In fact it doesn't feel like a normal matte lipstick at all. It is creamy and moisturing. I love this lipstick. Available online here.

Let me know in the comments if you have any favourite brands or make up items I need to add to my 2017 beauty wish list.

xx
