Bravura London - New year, New Skincare

Bravura Skincare
I know we're not quite there yet and I certainly don't want to take away from the impending festive celebrations but come the New Year, a lot of us will be re-evaluating, making changes and plans. This could be anything from deciding to change jobs, moving house, a new hair style or trying a new skincare range.

Bravura London very kindly sent me a full range of their products to try out. All of these products have been picked specifically to help my skincare needs, after I completed their skincare consultation. Bravura London are quite different in that they really don't want you to buy a product that isn't suited or going to work for you. You can either contact them to talk through your requirements or there are already 'menus' on their website which recommend what products will suit specific skin types.

For my mature, combination skin I have been trying out the following for just over 4 weeks:

First Cleanse Oil - £14.50
This comes with a handy pump and even though there is a warning with this to use some of the oil before attempting to put the pump in-I didn't and lost a bit of the oil, so take heed!

This is the first oil I've used for cleansing and it did take me a little while to get used to, as I'm used to a balm. The oil smells lovely and it's great for giving yourself a facial massage as well as cleansing. It is efficient at removing make up, although a second cleanse will ensure you shift any stubborn mascara.

The lovely thing about this oil is it's not at all stripping and will not disturb your skin's natural PH balance.

When water is added, the oil will turn in to a milky cleanser.

For the nights when you are using one of the acids, you need to make sure you splash off the oil thoroughly with water, rather than using a flannel.

Revitalising Ginsing Toner with 5% Glycolic Acid - £12.40
This toner is perfect for balancing your skin's PH levels after cleansing and with the 5% glycolic acid also acts as a acid exfoliator. As this is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) it will help to tone and firm and tighten pores and smooth the appearance of skin.

Glycolic Acid 10% - £9.59
Glycolic Acid is brilliant as it stimulates the skin to produce more collagen. Collagen keeps skin line free and elastic. So who wouldn't more of it! Glycolic Acid has also been know to help with acne, sun damaged skin, enlarged pores, dry skin and age spots. Using Glycolic Acid is the main thing which has transformed my skin this year.

Use this wiped over your face on a cotton pad and use 2-3 times a week, in the evening.

Lactic Acid 10% - £9.59
Lactic Acid is a mild chemical peel and is great for dry, dehydrated skin suffering with hyperpigmentation, acne or ageing skin. Lactic Acid is milder than Glycolic Acid, so this would be perfect if you find Glycolic too much for your skin (my skin will happily let me use both but I don't have sensitive skin).

Lactic Acid works in the same way as Glycolic and dissolves the 'glue' that holds dead skin cells together, which can block pores and hair follicles, resulting in spots. Again use this in your nighttime routine 2-3 times a week.

Hyaluronic Acid Serum - £25.00
Bravura Skincare
Hyaluronc Acid is the key ingredient you need to be using for intense hydration. You will only need to use a very small amount of this oil free liquid, as a little goes a long way. With regular use this serum will help to plump out the skin, making lines and wrinkles less visible.

Use this after cleansing and toning and before moisturiser.  You can use this as often as you wish.

Azulene Moisturiser - £9.90
Bravura Skincare
Firstly I love that this non scented cream is blue. It just makes me smile when I use it. And I use this as my day and night cream. This particular moisturiser is great for problem skin due to its ingredient of Azulene, a natural healing botanical extract, which helps to soothe skin and prevent blemishes and blackheads.

This light cream is great for my combination skin due to its non greasy formula.

As you can see all of the Bravura London products are really affordable and the packaging.. I adore the coloured glass bottles, they are like jewels on my bathroom shelf.

I have been really impressed with all of the products, especially the Lactic Acid and Moisturiser and after 4 weeks of use, my skin appears less oily (in the t-zone), more even and definitely clearer and brighter.

All of these products are available from the Bravura London website as are the skincare menus which you will find under the Skincare Advice section.

So here's looking forward to a Happy New Year and happy new skincare.
