Autumn fashion workwear

primark tie neck blouse
I realised a couple of weeks ago that I haven't bought any new clothes for work for ages. I always seem to be short of something. I buy tops, then I'm short of skirts and trousers.. it goes on and then I get bored of looking. But last weekend I picked up a few things for work, and thought I'd show you just in case you like the look of anything.

This pyjama style shirt is from Primark and was £10.00. I like the style of this, the pretty collar and the attached tie. I wore it this week and it did keep slipping out of my skirt and just felt a bit stiff. I've now given it a wash, which will hopefully soften it up. Failing that I will wear it under a pinafore dress, which should keep it from moving around.

The next top from Primark is this high neck cotton shirt. I really like this easy to wear top with its 3/4 length sleeves. I love anything high neck so this is right up my street and it isn't too tight on the neck. There are 2 small buttons at the back of the neck line. £8.00.

The last thing I bought from Primark is my favourite but is the most unglam thing I've bought. But I love it. I wanted a cropped cardigan for work to wear over shirts but which will keep me warm in my very cold office. This isn't as cropped as I wanted but I can overlook that because it's so snuggly, warm and I think will look appropriate for work and also great with jeans and a long sleeve tshirt. £12.00.

I find Next weird sizing and even though they always have really nice workwear pieces, for me they are either too small or too big. But I was in luck and got this top. I wasn't that excited by it when I bought it, and just got it because the material is slightly stretchy so I knew it would hang well but I actually really like the style of this top. I'm not normally a fan of a bell sleeve (they make me feel like Maid Marion!) but the subtle double layer bell shape of the cuffs on this top are really pretty and add something else to what could have been just a plain top. If they had more patterns/colours, I would definitely get some more. £20.00.

Bodysuits are back in and I really like the smoothed, tucked in silhouette they give. But you need to choose carefully. I've tried on a few lately and they are either too short in the body, rendering yourself almost infertile or too long in the body which means you have a flappy gusset!
This one from New Look fits me just right. Question - do you still wear knickers under the body? I'm going too.
Another high neck - a turtle this time. I can see myself wearing this with a blazer or with a shorter thick wool skirt. £11.99.

I have been on a life long search for the perfect black work trouser. During my journey, I have found a few and worn them to death, and then my search starts up again. I have been eyeing up and trying on these cigarette trousers from Topshop (£22.00) for months now. But I've always been in between sizes. Lucky for me (not) I've put on a few extra pounds and so now fit in to a pair. These are cropped and for the weather right now, they are perfect but come the colder weather, I cannot bear to have cold ankles.

The next pair of trousers are from New Look and I really wanted them in black but they were out of stock, so I got these khaki ones. I did nearly send them back because I wasn't sure what I was going to wear with Khaki. Black obviously! And these trousers are so comfortable to wear that I'm glad I kept them.
