New Tili Beauty Box from QVC

For me 2016 will be the year that I fully embraced Beauty Boxes. I've had so many good ones already this year - M&S Summer Beauty Box and Glamour Summer Edit Beauty Box are just a couple I featured on the blog.

QVC and their beauty shows with Alison Young are my guilty pleasure. They're featuring and selling cult beauty products before they're cult. So when I saw that QVC had curated their own beauty box, packed full of nine items for only £20.00 including p&p, I was sold. The beauty box arrived really quickly and as with most beauty boxes was packaged beautifully. There were two main reasons why I went from this box - Alpha H Liquid Gold and Becca Backlight Priming Filter, so they were first things I have been trying out..
alpha h liquid gold
Alpha H Liquid Gold - this is a liquid exfoliator which you use three nights a week only (I do alternate nights). It's intensive, so you apply it on a a dampened cotton pad and leave it on its on - no need to put any night cream or anything on top. The Glycolic Acid exfoliates skin, which helps with cell turnover and to reveal clearer looking skin. This also helps to revitalise skin, penetrate deep into pores to get rid of bacteria and helps to diminish signs of skin damage such as dark spots, acne scares and brown patches.
At the time of writing, I've used this three times and so far so good. Skin is looking better, although I am also trying out retinol creams for the first time ever on the alternate nights so I am going through a complete change to my night time skincare routine.
becca backlight priming filter
Becca Backlight Priming Filter - I've heard so many people rave about this and really wanted to try it, so this was an ideal way. This is a glowy primer - admittedly when I swatched it on the back of my hand and then blended in, I was blown away. It was super glowy. However, on my face it didn't translate as glowy but actually that's not a bad thing as I do have a oily t-zone to contend with! I really like the smell of this and I like it as a primer. I should really be only using a matte primer but this one doesn't leave me looking or feeling too oily and along with everything else I use to try and keep my shininess at bay, it works. I reckon I might buy the full size version.
bare minerals skinlongevity
Bare Minerals Skinlongevity Serum - this is a new serum from Bare Minerals which you apply morning and night before your moisturiser. It promises a lot - to reawaken, maintain skin's most vibrant look of health and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is a light, milky coloured liquid that sinks in to skin really quickly, leaving a smooth non sticky finish. So far, so good. I'm enjoying using this, my normal moisturiser and then the Becca primer. I will be lit from within!
Elemis micellar water
Elemis Smart Cleanse Micellar Water - I haven't tried this yet and I like to save these sized products for when I go away, as it saves packing the normal sized bottles. Being Elemis though I'm sure it's good, although I don't think I would pay £24.00 for a full sized bottle when I'm quite happy with my usual Garnier micellar water.
essie polish
Essie Polish in Ballet Slippers - my first Essie polish and although this is a really pretty pale pink shade, it's just too pale for me. I also found the formula to be quite streaky, although I often find this with near white polishes. I think the trick with this one is lots of thin coats.
nexxus shampoo and conditioner
Nexxus Shampoo and Conditioner - these are from the replenishing range and smell really gorgeous, a rich perfumed scent. Again I've not had chance to use this but another one for the holiday case.
Vita Liberata Tan Mousse
Vita Liberata Tan Mousse and Mit - I'm really looking forward to trying this fake tan mousse out. I need to have a spare day though, as to get a tan that lasts for up to 3 weeks, you need to have exfoliated and then apply this three times over 12-24 hours, showering with only water before each application. Every time I think I'm going to do this I either haven't exfoliated or I shower with shower gel. Doh. Must try harder. This little can of mousse also comes with a mit so no orange palms. I'll let you know how I get on with this and you never know it might feature in a Monthly Favourites post.

So as you can see, this beauty box is great value at only £20.00 for all these products. I'm already counting the days until the next one which will be released from QVC sometime in October. You can get this first edition Tili box at QVC UK.
