Bronzed Beauties - six products which will give you a sun-kissed glow

bronzing products
Is it just me or has the UK Summer been a bit something or nothing? One day-blue skies, full on sun, BBQ out, national shortage of sausages and burgers, next day-heating on!
So we need to improvise and also be ready for those days when the temperature soars and you want to get your legs out. So today I'm talking about the current bronzers and tanning products I'm loving.

Self Tanners

  • St Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mist - I'm usually a gradual tan kind of girl, preferring to build up the colour over a few days but sometimes I need a quick hit. I got this handy 125ml can in a recent beauty box and this gives a natural looking tan. I spray this on whilst stood inside my shower cubicle and then wait a few minutes for it to dry. Easy to apply and smells nice.
  • Beyond Bronze by Fake Bake Anti-Ageing Self Tanning Face Lotion* - Fake Bake kindly sent me this when I took part in their #saveyourselfie campaign. I apply this sheer liquid on to my face at night, after my usual night time skincare routine. The self tanner develops while you sleep and you wake up to a glowing, subtle tan.
Bronzers
  • Benefit Dew the Hoola Liquid Bronzer - I got this mini version free with this month's Elle magazine, and thought I'd try it as I've never used a liquid bronzer before, it was free and I am really enjoying the Benefit freebies with various magazines at the moment. This liquid bronzer is so good. It is matte so not at all shimmery and gives a sun kissed glowing base. I will definitely be buying the full size version of this.
  • Benefit Hoola Powder Bronzer - I have talked a lot about how much Hoola has transformed my make up look. I use it every day and will for the rest of my life! Click here to hear more love for this powder.
  • M&S Autograph Multi Bronze Powder - This is such a pretty powder bronzer. It's a multi tonal pan with mattes and shimmers and a nice deep bronze shade and then a light pink which can be used on its on as a blusher. I tend to swirl a big bronzing brush all over and sweep over my face.
  • Mac Mineralize Skinfinish powder - OK disclaimer. This is not sold as a bronzer, I bought the wrong shade! A few years ago I discovered Mac's Mineralize Skinfinish powder as a face powder and it is amazing. It gives you a flawless, mattifed, smoothed finish. I am shade Medium Dark in the Natural Skinfinish but I bought this coming back from holiday. I had forgotten which shade I was and I had a tan, so it wasn't anyone's fault really. Anyway I use this non bronzer powder as a bronzer when I have a holiday tan to keep the glow going, mattify and add some contour and depth.

Let me know what your favourite bronzing products are. I'm after some recommendations as this is a fairly new area for me and it's one I like.

  3. Some good picks, Hoola is a good non-sparkly neutral and I like many of MACs powder products. I'm currently still loving Guerlain's bronzer with a small slice of blush in the pan. I bought it last year, it's not sparkly and gives a fab natural colour

    1. Thanks Heidi. I'll look into the Guerlain bronzer. I've not tried that brand and I need to get out of my comfort zone!
