Tresemme Perfectly (un)Done Waving Wand

tresemme waving wand
I really want Caroline Flack's hair. I love how sassy, current and feminine her short bob length hair is, especially when it's wavy. So I went and had my hair cut a bit shorter, had balayage style highlights put in and then a toner all over. I love it, even though it was the most I have ever spent on my hair!
But how to achieve, at home, the waves that the hairdresser had so effortlessly put in using straighteners?

I used to be able to curl my hair with straighteners but those days have long gone, I just can't do it anymore. For the past five years I have been using the daughter's curling wand. One of those sticks that is wider at the top and then tapers down to a thinner end. And it's been fine, it's done the job but I wanted big, more natural looking loose waves.

It's actually not that easy to find a thick barrelled curling wand but when I saw the Tresemme Perfectly (un)done ceramic waving wand, I knew straight away that this had the girth that I was looking for!

With the Tresemme waving wand you also get a protective heat glove and mat. The mat is essential and stops burnt carpet and duvets. The glove is great but I like to live dangerously, so I don't use it.

The wand heats up to 200 degrees c and has three settings:

  • I - for fine, damaged or coloured hair
  • II - for medium hair
  • III - for thicker, coarser hair
The wand heats up really quickly and has an indicator light which lights up when switched on. It also has a handy automatic shut off feature, so if you leave the wand on for more than 72 minutes, it will automatically switch off.

I absolutely love this wand. It makes big, loose waves which stay in all day. Depending on how much hair you wind around the barrel, you can alter how tight or bouncy the waves are.
  • For tighter, bouncier waves, wrap more hair
  • For loose, free flowing waves, wrap less hair
  • For Caroline waves, start winding the hair around the barrel further down the hair section
The wand has a stand at the end of the heated barrel, and I don't know whether this is intentional, but this stand bit also stops wrapped hair from sliding too far down the barrel.

I spray the Tresemme Heat Defence Spray on to my hair before I start waving, to protect my hair. You can get the Tresemme Perfectly (un)done waving wand at Boots for £25.00.

So I've got the hair and now all I need is a flirty, short length new wardrobe, oh and a face lift, and I too will look as young and lovely as Caroline Flack.
