Holiday prep #1 - The Feet

Holiday prep
Happy Friday everyone and to rejoice in the end of the week, I'm kicking off with the first post in my Holiday Preparation series. This is going to be a full body preparation series of posts on everything you need to get Summer/Holiday ready but in a non-complicated way because we all have busy lives and limited time to spend on ourselves, unfortunately. I'm even going to throw in a couple of "What to Pack's" for a City Break/4 days and a week long holiday.  So to post number 1..

1. Feet are just starting to come out of hibernation after the not so cold winter here in the UK and mine have certainly not seen the light of day in a few months. So to get those hardened, dry, unloved feet a bit of pampering, you need a good foot file. Nothing really fancy, just a good hand held file like this one I got from Superdrug for £1.99. After a shower or bath, give the soles of your feet a good filing, around your heel especially and if you can bear it on the soles and anywhere there is hard skin. This is so satisfying.

2. After filing you need a good moisturiser on your feet. I used to just use one of my creamy body moisturisers but I got this Bliss Foot Patrol cream in a Birchbox a while back and it is brilliant. It's got a lovely refreshing peppermint smell and is so cooling when applied. I apply this liberally all over my feet and then pop some socks on and get in to bed. In the morning I guarantee you will wake up with silky smooth feet. The full size of this is £18.50 and you can get it from Asos.

3. For summer toe nails, I like bright colours. The Barry M Speedy Quick Dry polishes have a huge range of colours and they last, especially on the toes, for weeks. They have a wide brush which makes applying a doddle. You can do one nail in one swipe. The colours I've featured here are Turbo Charged (the darker coral pink with a hint of sparkle) and Full Throttle (the lighter peach colour). You can get these from Boots or Superdrug and they're only £3.99.

4. And on holiday or on those rare hot days in the UK, my footwear of choice? Always Haviana flip-flops. These are the most comfortable flip flops you will ever wear. You don't even notice the toe post. Their soles are thick foam so you can walk for some distance without the discomfort you would normally get from thin soled flip flops. Every year I treat myself to a new pair of Havianas but last year I got the best pair ever, in the world - Snoopy Havianas.  I need say no more.

p.s I've just seen a new Snoopy design on the Haviana website here.  (adds to basket..)

I hope you enjoyed reading. Have a great weekend. xx
