Affordable work wear

I haven't bought any clothes for quite some time.  I'm not sure why, I just seem to have lost my mojo for fashion and it's all gone on beauty!  Anyway desperate action was called for as my work wear wardrobe was looking seriously grim, and black!

I really wanted a new pair of black trousers and some dresses, as I find dresses for work easy to wear, they look smart whilst still being fashionable and you can add a bit of personality with a dress, I think.  Well my luck wasn't in this time but I did pick up these bits:

New Look trousers khaki

Paperbag style trousers in khaki from New Look (£19.99).  I went up a size on these as they're meant to be baggy and I wanted them to be really comfortable, overly baggy ones. I love this khaki green.  Quite a departure from my usual black trew!  I'm going to style these with either a tight fitting top - to offset the baggy bottoms or I have a simple black top in a style similar to the H&M one below.  I'm going to tuck the front of this almost crop top in to these trousers so you can see the "paperbag" (why paperbag?!) detail around the waist.  I'll wear these with ankle boots.

H&M trousers grey

Another pair of not black trousers!  These grey straight leg trousers are from H&M at a bargain £14.99.  These have decent pockets (love a good pocket) and hang really nicely. Being grey, these trousers are going to take me through in to Spring as well.

H&M Ballerina top

This loose top fits really nicely.  It has a high neck collar and I did have to go a size up because on my usual size the zip at the back of the collar was chocking me!  The fun part of this top is the design, the ballerinas.  This top is from H&M, also £14.99.  They have this in several different quirky prints as well.  This looks great with the grey trousers.

Ok, I had to buy something black.  This pretty black blouse was in the H&M sale section for £10.00. Not much to say about this, its black, classic style, will go with lots of things. I'm going to find a nice ribbon to do a pussy bow tie around the neck just to funk it up.

Another sale top I bought was this shirt from New Look.  I was going to get it anyway to wear with jeans, after borrowing my daughter's check shirt.  Low and behold this black and white number was reduced to £10.00, from £19.99.

And then just to round off my forced entry back in to clothes buying, I bought some pyjamas/leisure wear/what I like to call pre-jamas from Primark.  Trousers £6.00, t-shirt (not nightwear but very soft) £5.00.

All these were purchased last weekend, so are still around in the shops.  This is my first fashion haul post so let me know what you think.

xx
