Valentine's Day Treats for You.

Valentine's Day Treats

Valentine's Day is fast approaching.  Groan.  I do not think there is another day that is more stressful. It's the day in the year when you're either disappointed that your partner has made no effort/completely forgotten or worse, surprised you with a really thoughtful gesture or gift, and you've forgotten!  Or you're single and everywhere you look there appears to be loved up couples skipping through meadows of flowers, hand in hand, whilst gazing adoringly in to each other's eyes (an accident waiting to happen if you ask me!).

For years I worked in an office behind the reception area and with windows facing out to the car park. Every blasted Valentine's Day we would literally down tools and critique the many bouquets of flowers that were on a continuous arrival throughout the day.  All the while I would be making comments that I thought it was overrated and what a waste of money, etc.
Towards the end of one Valentine's Day, we all smirked and made comments such as "poor cow" when a particularly shabby and droopy bunch of lilies turned up.  Guess what then happened?  I got a call from reception to go and collect "my delivery".  Mortified.

So many years on, happily single, I celebrate the day of love by treating myself!
Because it's all about love and who doesn't love a treat!  This year it's only going to be a little treat for me because the following weekend I will be away with my lovely family, which to me no eyeshadow palette or handbag can better.  And really that's what it is all about, I think, a day to remind yourself that you are loved, by whoever that is, and that you love them back.  I know we should think about that everyday, but we just don't sometimes.  So Happy Valentine's Day lovelies!

  1. L.O.V.E the Neom candle range, not splurged on one for myself yet but hope to one day! Am currently trying out my first Parks one & am loving it but not sure I'd spend the full price on it though!
