Pixi Glow Tonic - Worth the splurge?

Pixi Glow Tonic

I've been bed bound for the past few days with flu and feeling completely bleugh.  But every cloud as they say and the cloud for me, lifted.. to reveal brighter, clearer skin.

I've read so many glowing (!) reviews on the Pixi Glow Tonic, with users saying they saw near instant results to their skin that I had to try it for myself.  I ordered mine when M&S had 20% off through their Sparks card (you must check out M&S beauty, they now have a lot of high end brands, making them more accessible).  The Pixi Glow Tonic is £18.00 for 250ml bottle, which initially I did think was really steep but actually I've been using this every day for over 3 weeks now and you can see in the photo how much I've used.

I have to say for me, initially, I was a bit disappointed as I did not see instantly glowy, even toned, tighter skin. But then I realised that during the winter months, the only time I see my bare skin properly is at the weekend, as during the week on goes my make up before work, and then when I get home and take it off, it's dark.  But this week, I haven't worn any make up and when I was able to drag myself out of my sick bed, I was able to see my skin in daylight.  My skin certainly feels smoother and to me, it seems that my age spots are not as dark.

What I like about this product is that I know I should be exfoliating a couple of times a week but I just forget and I haven't found an exfoliator that really wows me.  I'm always put off as well because guaranteed after exfoliating, I always get spots.  The Glow Tonic is an exfoliating toner, which you use every day (after cleansing) and so it takes the hassle out of having to remember because this becomes part of your usual daily skincare routine.  The toner gently dissolves away dead skin cells, which has got to be kinder to your skin than using harsh, gritty particles.

The smell is divine, like a summer meadow but be warned don't get it near your eyes - it will sting!

So is it worth the splurge - well yes because I like adding this step in to my routine but that said I have heard that Freedom do a Glow Tonic for £6.00!!  So I will continue with the Pixi but then after I will try out the Freedom and then I will be able to categorically say whether it's worth the splurge or not.
