Zoeva Smoky Palette

Who doesn't love an eye shadow palette?  For the most part, they are really good value for money, giving you several shadows in a handy, travel friendly case.  You'll always get at least one shade you will never use but you will also get a few shades that you wouldn't normally go for, but a palette gives you the opportunity to try something new, without the commitment of spending your money on just one eye shadow.

I'm currently dabbling with cheap and cheerful palettes versus higher end shadows to see if the extra cost is worth the extra money (look out for a blog post!).

But what has thrown a curve ball in to my little experiment is Zoeva.  Zoeva have an array of palettes and these are available at Beauty Bay for only £15.50.

I have the Smoky Palette and like the others you get 10 shades in a cardboard (but sturdy) box.  These powder shades are ridiculously pigmented, honestly gently does it when applying the shadows!  The shades have real depth and great staying power and are unlike a lot of colours I have seen in other palettes.  Zoeva are really interesting.

8 of these 10 shades are matt, with 'soul searching' and 'dark edge' in a subtle metallic formulation.
The darker shades are great to use as either a liner or just a dab in the outer corner of your lid, to create definition.  The lighter shades I use on their own as an all over colour.

This palette is really very impressive and as soon as I can decide on which one to go for next, I'm ordering it!
