Christmas Do Make Up

It's that time of the year again.  The time when we can strike up conversation with work colleagues we wouldn't normally, hairdresser's opening conversation changes from "where are you going on holiday" to "where's your works do".  We spend countless hours searching the internet for The Dress, spend an afternoon deciding on our menu choices (only to eat the bread roll and a roast potato because the excitment of the night ahead takes over!).

The Christmas Do, and Christmas season in general, is the time of year where you can really go for it with sequins and sparkle.  And you can do this with your make up too but you want subtle sparkle, a hint off, a tease.

H&M launched its new make up line in September 2015 and since then its received rave reviews from the press and beauty bloggers.  The new range is not to be confused with its minimal pieces in non-London stores.  I had to go to the Oxford Circus store to see the full range in all its glory.  The packaging is simple but elegant with totally usable colours and shades.

I was overwhelmed by the range, which goes beyond make up to include skin care, brushes, nail polishes and hair and body care.

So I picked a few items which I think will go with whatever sequin number, LBD or jump suit you're going to be sporting to your Christmas Do.

Gold iridescent glitter polish.  Perfect as an all over colour or as a top coat.  Try this on the tips of your nails, painting to half way down your nail.

This powder eye colour palette has 4 matt shades and 5 subtle sparkly shades.  This also comes with a really useful guide on how to create natural, classic and night time looks.

A natural but build-able pinky peach matt powder.

A khaki eye pencil, that has a hint of glitter when blended out.

Nail polish - 'Dragon's Hoard' £3.99
Eye colour palette - 'Ready, set, glow' £9.99
Pure Radiance powder blusher - 'Pink peach' £6.99
Colour Essence eye pencil - 'Wildlife' £3.99
